About Us...
The Del
Norte County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for maintaining the peace and
providing a safer community for those that live and work in Del Norte
County. We have a staff of dedicated deputies, correctional officers and
professionals whom work daily to meet those goals. The Del Norte County
Sheriff’s Office has a patrol division, jail division, civil office, court
security and county wide emergency communications. We also have special
operations with boating safety and waterways program and

Patrol Division
Patrol
division is under the command of Commander Tim Athey it consists
of patrol and investigations unit. We currently have sixteen assigned to
active patrol. The investigations unit consists of detectives and the
narcotics enforcement team. In addition under the patrol commanders’
responsibility is communications unit and property/ evidence.
Jail Division
Jail
division is headed up by Commander Bill Steven and consists of twelve
correctional officers and eight correctional technicians. In addition to
cooking staff, and maintenance. The Del Norte County jail can house 142
inmates within our walls
Civil Office
The Civil
Office is run by Mike Leavitt. The office processes subpoenas, wage
garnishments, evictions notices, and concealed weapons permits. This is
also the location to come to if you need to get fingerprinted for
employment.

The
California State Victim Notification Service (VINE) is a service
through which victims of crime can use the telephone or internet to
search for information regarding their offender’s custody status and
register to receive telephone and email notification when their
